Darren Jackson - Principal of Beechwood CollegeWelcome to Beechwood College

It gives me great pleasure to introduce you to our unique College for young people with autism and Asperger's Syndrome.

At Beechwood College we are passionate about supporting and encouraging young people to achieve their full potential in pursuit of their individual goals and aspirations. Our mission is to devote our energy every day to every student, to deliver an inclusive learning environment that provides a wide range of experiences, regardless of ability, to prepare them for later life.

Beechwood College is a special place whose staff team provide a stimulating, proactive and structured environment, where students are supported to become equipped with the skills required to function within a complex and ever changing world. Our culture is one of empowerment through inspirational education. And it's fun. After all, that's what going to College is all about. There is a vibrant and creative energy here (our art and animation studio is a testament to that!) and we are proud to welcome more and more students to the College each year.

Social and emotional wellbeing is high on our list of priorities. A college environment, for many students away from home for the first time, can be exciting but also daunting. The transition period into Beechwood College is important as we start the journey toward greater emotional maturity, stability and inclusion. We continue to achieve success in delivering packages of education for students who have in the past struggled to access more conventional curriculums and, in doing so, we are able to support our students to play a more active role in their future development.

I hope you find this website useful and would encourage you to request a copy of our prospectus or book a visit to come and see us so that you can experience for yourself the community, student-centred environment that is Beechwood College.
